The Red Energy Red & Black Squad will consist of 50 of Essendon's most passionate fans whose primary role is to make as much noise as possible at each Essendon home game at Etihad Stadium in 2011.
Squad members will be seated directly next to the opposition cheer squad and each week members will be given Essendon/Red Energy branded merchandise/apparel to wear at the game.

- Rd 1 vs Western Bulldogs (Sun 27 March; 1:10pm)
- Rd 6 vs Gold Coast Suns (Sun 1 May; 1:10pm)
- Rd 7 vs West Coast Eagles (Sun 8 May; 1:10pm)
- Rd 13 vs North Melbourne (Sat 18 June; 2:10pm)
- Rd 15 vs Geelong Cats (Sat 2 July; 7:10pm)
- Rd 20 vs Sydney Swans (Sat 6 August; 7:10pm)
- Rd 23 vs Port Adelaide (Sun 28 August; 4:40pm)
- Location: Reserved seat (Level 1 behind the goals) – directly next to the opposition cheer squad.
The Rules:
- All members must be available to attend all 7 home games
- All members must wear themed EFC/ Red Energy apparel for each game
- All members must make a lot of noise during the games
- All members must adhere to the Red Energy Red & Black Squad code of conduct
(ie. rules around behaviour - drinking, swearing etc)
- All members must commit to attending a fortnightly training session with the
Red Energy Red & Black Squad team during the 2011 football season.
What do I need to do at the auditions to be selected?
You and your friends will be given one minute to demonstrate to a judging panel why you
are one of Essendon's most passionate fans. You will be filmed and judged on the following criteria:
- Costume – ie. most colourful Essendon dresser/fan
- Creation of an 'Essendon' chant
- Sing the Bomber's theme song
- Originality
- Overall enthusiasm.
